Hunting Safety Signs LLC
Imagine these real life scenarios:
1. Hunting on public land with my son....Walking in the woods down a trail and all of a sudden, we walk up to a tree stand rifle hunter, hunting from a tree facing the trail we're walking on. I whistle to let him know that we see him and to make sure he's aware of our presence. We ease on back and find another place to hunt. Needless to say, we probably ruined the rest of his hunt. Thank God! The tree stand hunter saw and acknowledged us.
How could we have avoided walking within shooting range of this hunter? And possibly being shot?
2. Stalk hunting hogs on public land with my two sons...We arrive early the morning of the hunt. At first light we began trying to jump some hogs. After about an hour and a half of stalking through the woods, and no hogs to be found. We decide to try the other side of the woods across a creek. About an hour into the stalk we decide to take a break on a downed tree. As we're sitting quietly on the downed tree, I notice a hog moving around his bedding area about 50 yards away. I finally have a clear shot on the hog and I see hunter orange from my peripheral vision. I don't squeeze the trigger. What I thought was one hunter, turns out to be two. I wave my arms in the air to get their attention, I give them the stop sign and they ignore me. As they continuing walking they jump the hog. One of the hunters takes aim, but does not have a shot. As the hog is running towards us, slightly to our left, I have another shot, but now the hunter is aligned with the hog. Again, I refuse to take the shot. After that, we became disgusted and decided to leave. When we are almost at the truck, I notice another truck parked in front of mine. As we get closer, we notice, Its the hunters we saw in the woods. One of them asked me, “why didn't you take the shot.” I replied, “You were in my line of fire, I did not have a safe shot.” He thanked me for not firing and I asked him, “By the way, how old are you?” He said, “16!”
How could we have avoided this possible tragedy?
3. Many hunting clubs across this country allow members to stalk hunt or designate an area to hunt on some sort of a peg board system. Our © Hunting Safety Signs are ideal to use during these types of hunts. The © Hunting Safety Signs help alert other club members as to the type of hunting you are, or will be doing in your designated area ( i.e. stalking, tree stand, blind, etc.).
These scenarios and many more like them can be reduced by using the © Hunting Safety Signs. The © Hunting Safety Signs do not replace common sense or your state and local government's safety and hunter orange requirements. But they will help you be safe while hunting; by informing others of your presence, type of hunting and proximity.
